It is simply set with nine old round-cut diamonds set in a rub-over setting. The centre diamond is a little bit different and set in a four-clawed setting, in a square.

Absolutely beautiful and exceptionally pretty original late Victorian to Edwardian period brooch made in England c1900 to 1915.
Very unusually it is set in fifteen-carat yellow gold, which has a lovely buttery yellow gold quality of colour. It is set with multitudes of natural half pearls, in the shape of moon crescents and a star.
This contrasts with its matching partner featuring organic leafy details, both being made of the most beautiful and intricate pierced setting.
