Unusual and rare mid 19th century ruby and diamond set dress ring, made in England c1840. It is set in an eighteen-carat yellow gold and silver fronted setting with 5 cushion cut Burmese rubies and 5 cushion cut white diamonds all in a fine Milgrain setting. The shoulders of the ring is made in a ‘split shank’ design which is always the trade mark of an early ring
