Superb original Georgian brooch made c1780 to 1800 and set in the most beautiful eighteen-carat yellow gold setting. It is set in the centre with an oval-shaped aquamarine, surrounded by four wonderful round-cut garnet stones and four beautiful citrine stones. The gold work on the brooch itself is known as cannetille work: it is very finely made from individual strands of woven gold. It is a very rare, unusual piece and in superb original condition.
