eNum: 3912.CEWR.1755

Classic piece of Celtic Revival jewellery made in the 1980s by The Irish Jewellery House Company.
It is fully hard marked for nine-carat gold and stamped TJH for The Jewellery House.
It depicts four interlaced swans representing four children in flight, or being transfigured.
Their sorceress step-mother turned them into swans and they lived in Lough Derravaragh (Lake Derravaragh) in County Westmeath, Ireland, where they spent 300 years. From there, they moved to the Sea of Moyle for 300 years, and finally to Inis Gluaire (Island of Glora) off County Mayo for their final 300 years of enchantment, before being freed by the arrival of Christianity.
The sculptural dynamic of the pendant is very expressive and is set with Celtic revival patterns. Iit comes with its original nine-carat gold neck chain, and its original box.
