Really unusual and pretty original late 19th century pendant and chain made in England c1900 and set in a rich eighteen-carat yellow gold setting. It depicts a riding crop in the centre of the pendant and on each side a single horseshoe: the horseshoe on the right is set with a cushion-cut ruby, the horseshoe on the left with a cushion-cut sapphire stone. Both are further encrusted with old rose-cut. The overall shape is reminiscent of a shamrock.
