Amazing late Victorian period caterpillar to butterfly pendant made in France c1900 to 1905. It is set in eighteen-carat yellow gold. The wings of the butterfly are beautifully decorated with hand enamelling. It is completely translucent. The antenna of the bug is also set with two cabochon-cut stones, and the detailing to the body is simply exquisite.
