Most incredible piece of Art Deco jewellery: an absolutely amazing Art Deco diamond set necklace made in England c1920. It is set in the finest handmade platinum setting of this most unusual design. It is set with a series of transitional-cut diamonds: three large diamonds which are two carats and sixty points, a pair of transitional-cut diamonds which are a further two carats, and in between 3 slightly smaller transitional-cut diamonds of approximately forty points each. It is incredibly made, so unusual and as stylish today as it was when it was made in the 1920s. Its name derives from the French for “neglected” due to its asymmetrical style (carelessly arranged, or artfully informal): parure négligée, collier négligé.
