Really unusual ring made in England c1880 to 1900.
It is set in a fine eighteen-carat yellow gold setting with a beautiful oval-shaped cabochon-cut rich garnet stone in the centre set in a rub-over setting.
This is surrounded by a beautiful rope design and scallop decoration in the outer circle of the ring.
The shank is decorated in what is known as a split shank designed.
