A superb pair of original mid to late Victorian period earrings made in England c1860 to 1880.
They are set in fine eighteen-carat yellow gold, and the beauty of these earrings is that although they have a fabulous length, they are not heavy because they are hollow in the centre.
That was the secret of the Victorians to make very impressive looking, that would not drag your ear down.
They are designed in what is known as Etruscan gold wirework, because the gold wire is applied to the earring itself and they come with their original shepherd hook fittings.
