Really unusual and touching piece. It is known as a sweet-heart brooch or a me-and-you brooch, or a toi-et-moi brooch, and it represents two birds sitting together on a single branch.
It was made in Italy c1970 and a set in fine eighteen-carat yellow gold.
The body of each bird is made from natural pearls, and the head and breast of the bird is hand-enamelled with wonderful colouring.
