It is set in a fine eighteen-carat yellow gold and platinum setting with a rich blood ruby stone in the centre set within ten claws. This is surrounded by a single row of old European-cut diamonds all in a cluster style setting. It is a bit unusual because it has a single diamond set into each shoulder of the ring.
