Really unusual diamond and sapphire set ring made in France c1890 to 1910 and set in a fine eighteen-carat yellow gold and platinum setting. The centre of the ring is set with a series of old round-cut diamonds set in a circular shape setting and this is surrounded by a single row of square French-cut rich blue sapphire stones. The shoulders of the ring are a mixture of eighteen-carat yellow gold and platinum and are set in what is known as a split shank design.
