Incredible mid to late Victorian opal and diamond set ring made c1850 to 1880 in England. It is set in the finest eighteen-carat rich yellow gold setting and set in the centre with a cabochon-cut opal set in a rub-over setting. It is surrounded by a single row of cushion-cut diamonds, which is quite unusual. They are beautiful diamonds, slightly square in shape. The shoulders are pierced and also set with a single diamond, in the Victorian style.
