This wonderful original late Victorian period diamond set five-stone ring was made circa 1880 and it is known as a five-stone carved ring.
It is set with five old European cut diamonds, slightly graduated in size, set in a fine clawed setting.

The centre stone is one carat and seventeen points, the next diamonds are seventy-seven points each and the diamonds in the corner are forty-nine points each.
