Superb brooch made in England c1870 to 1880.
It is set in a fine eighteen-carat yellow gold setting, and it depicts a horseshoe in the centre, which is beautifully set with wonderful fire opals and old European-cut diamonds in between them and at the end of each of the bar.

Here we have got a further fire opal and a beautiful pair of old European cut diamonds.
It was most likely given as a lucky brooch or as a good charm brooch.
