Original Georgian period clasp, mounted on a late Victorian two-row pearl necklace, made in England c1800.
The pearls are of a cultured variety which are of an off white to grey colour and are graduated in size from 5mm to 10mm.
The Georgian clasp is of eighteen-carat yellow gold and is set with Burmese rubies and old cut diamonds in a leaf shape design.
This is a really unusual piece of antique jewellery.
It is an original late victorian period match box or what was known at the time as a vesta case.
It was made in England C1895 and is nine carats rose gold.
It was proberly worn originally on a victorian muff chain or a double albert chain.
