What is most unusual about this ring is that it is set on each side with a cabochon-cut fiery white opal.
Opals are beautiful in colouring from reds to greens to yellows, and to get the combination of such a large stone with opal stones is really, really unusual, and is more than likely a special commission made for a special customer all those years ago.
