Superb original Art Deco period brooch made in France cin 1920. It is set in a fine eighteen-carat white gold setting and the centre piece to the brooch is a rock crystal set in an off square, also called lozenge or calisson in France (after the sweet). It is centred with a cabochon-cut emerald with four Asscher-cut emeralds around the central stone and diamonds in between, and the border is set with Colombian emeralds and small old round cut diamonds in an rhombus-shape setting.
