Stunning pair of late Georgian emerald set earrings, made c1800. They are set in a fine eighteen-carat rich yellow gold setting with a square cut Colombian emerald in the centre set in a rub-over setting.
The intricacy of the gold work around the emerald is a particular nice feature of these beautiful earrings.
The fitting to them is from the back to the front rather than to the back, which is a feature also of a very early earring for pierced ears.
