Highly unusual and original antique ring made in the early Victorian era. It is set in a fine fifteen-carat rich yellow gold setting. It is set of course to the front with two hearts in black enamel, one of which is set with a natural pearl, the other is set with two gold initials: JE. The inside of the shank of the ring has been set with the hair of a faithful departed, with clover openings, making it a mourning ring.
