Really unusual late Victorian, early Edwardian, period piece of jewellery. This wonderful brooch was made by Hopkins and Hopkins c1900. It is made in fifteen-carat yellow gold, which is unusual and a lovely rich colour of gold. The brooch is made in the form of the Irish Tara brooch, which symbolises female empowerment and strength of charact. It is set with natural pearls and cabochon-cut turquoise stones.
