Very unusual late Georgian rubellite and diamond set ring. This extraordinary ring was made c1800 and is set in a fine eighteen-carat yellow gold and silver fronted setting.
It is set in the centre with a pear shaped rubellite stone set in a very fine double-clawed setting.
It is set at the top with a little coronet, set with a rose-cut diamond and then on each side another rose-cut diamond all set in a very fine-clawed setting.
It may have been a piece to express fidelity to the crown, or something religious related to the Sacred Heart.
