Really unusual piece made c1890 to 1900
It represents Shamrock and is set in fine eighteen-carat yellow gold.
A shamrock has three leaves: diamond, ruby, and sapphire; and all of the stones are set in a fine clawed setting. The tail of the Shamrock is represented in gold.
The tri-colour could be a nod to the French or USA’s nations, or simply a lucky charm to mark a lucky day.
